Sweet Memories is a project done in partnership with the Tokyo Midtown Koinobori Project, an outdoor exhibition showcasing a select number of designed koinobori. Koinobori are traditional Japanese carp-shaped windsocks flown outside of homes to wish children a healthy and steady growth on Children’s Day (May 5).
The design revolves around the notion of nostalgia recalled from confectionery-essential for a child’s development. As we grow older, those sweets become associated with different people, experiences, and emotions.
